I never thought Id see the day my father couldn’t live without his Iphone, Ipad, GPS and bluetooth. My father still rocks his AOL account even though I have been begging him to ditch it. But times change, and if you want to run a successful business you have to be in the business of learning. You are never too old to learn something new.
I taught a class and as I was talking about FABAtv a student cut me off to tell me that she doesn’t feel she can learn any more butterfly designs, and that she feels she is at a good place in her painting that she doesn’t need any more classes. My answer to her was, if you are in a good place some one in a GREAT place would sooner than later take her spot. Good is the enemy of great. Great people find time to learn, teach themselves new abilities, and continuously educate their minds.
Here’s a great example, I own and operate 4 internet based businesses (#sillyfarm #fabatv #fabaic #myfabevents) YET I did not know how to use photoshop. I avoided Photoshop class in college, and found a good comfortable spot with Max (my designer) and never felt the need to know anything. BUT, when he goes on vacation or I need a quick something I cant move. So, I bit the bullet and took a very intro course to help me understand the basic principals. Do I plan on being a graphic designer- NO but knowing how to save a file in the right format has saved both of us time and money.
Yesterday while reading the #bookofbusinessawesome by #ScottStratten I was reading about Twitter and Twitter followers. I have embraced much of social media except for Twitter. I kept saying oh I just dont get Twitter. But as I read the book and listened to his podcast I realized hmmmm there might be something to Twitter. Scott helped me realize that Twitter is a fast real time connection to your customers and potential customers. So I started reading articles about Twitter last night. All it cost me was an hour of my time, and just like that I have another free tool to help me increase business.
Its never too late to take an online class, feed your mind, and connect with others to help elevate your business. The only limitations are ones you create.
Final note: This month is BOOST your business month on FABAtv. And if you haven’t checked out the newest class by Mary Anne Barltey, I am telling you it is worth the price of the whole year subscription. But don’t stop there, take the class called Working with Agents, Full Time in No time, Social Media marketing, Contracts with Patrick, and invest in your self and your business. The day you stop learning is the day you make the conscious effort to throw in the towel.
Id love to hear what you are learning at the moment. Did you take a new art class? Have you read a good book lately? I was introduced to Scott Stratten by John Place. A referral goes a LONG way so share with me <3 and I will make the promise to always share with you!
