This time last year we would be unwinding from the craziness of the convention, looking over pictures of fun times passed, and planning for the next big extravaganza. Having the convention in South Florida, local to the Silly Farm family, was a beautiful tropical paradise, but we believe everything happens for a reason. The Bonaventure Hotel we previously hosted it at was purchased by new owners who converted most of the convention space into additional hotel rooms. Because we are the largest Face & Body Convention in the US, we needed a space much bigger to house hundreds of talented and creative individuals in 2017. Many of you requested to re locate the convention back to Orlando, and after much deliberation- we are going back to our roots!
The Double Tree is a beautiful hotel directly across the street from Universal Studios, and has always been a perfect location to hold FABAIC. The hotel has a large convention center attached to it which gives us a unique and private area to host the convention. It looks so big when it’s empty, but when filled with your smiles and so much color it becomes a magical place.
Besides the fact that Orlando is the number one vacation destination in the USA, The Double Tree is going through a $40 million renovation- which will be ready in time to welcome us in 2017. Some of the best features of the hotel are the comfortable beds and in- room refrigerators that allow for a good night sleep and can save you money on food, although between the jams and parties there isn’t much time for rest! For the Starbucks lovers, there’s one in the lobby and for the healthy people who love to exercise, there’s a pool and a gym. For those who’d rather party, the bar in the lobby stays open until 1:00am. Within walking distance there’s lots of restaurants, a drugstore, souvenir store and a bank. Personally for me, the best part is the friendly staff and the warm cookies they give you when you arrive.
If you register for the convention via FABAIC.com, you can purchase a 5- night hotel stay at the Double Tree with your Adult registration. This can be paid in full or with our payment plan option. If you purchase the room, it will be under your name, and you can share it with whoever you chose. When we get closer to the convention we will contact you for room details, such as bed preference and extra names on the reservation.
